Background:

Ms. Shakila Naseer Ahmad graduated with LLB (Hons.) from University of London in 1999 and thereafter obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice in 2000. She completed her pupillage and was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 11 January 2002. She was duly appointed as a Legal Assistant in the chambering firm. She practiced both, litigation and conveyancing but interest has pulled her more towards litigation. She has handled various general litigation portfolios which she has gained from the various senior counsels she had worked under before joining  Ariff & Co. 

She has appeared in the Subordinate Courts, High Court, the Court of Appeal and Federal Court of Malaysia. 

She has experience handling various interlocutory applications, trials as well as appeals in areas pertaining to conventional banking and finance disputes, debt recovery, landlord and tenancy disputes, drafting of wills and contested wills, disputes under the law of tort, fraudulent land disputes, contractual disputes and execution proceedings including but not limited to Bankruptcy and winding up. 

In her early years of practice, she had hands on experience in drafting and preparation of substantive corporate and conveyancing documentations and thus has helped much in land and corporate disputes. 

Her spoken skills are Malay, English, Tamil, Urdu and Hokkien.
